Leads: Globant, Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI)
Project description
This project bridges the financing gap in circular electronics management by analyzing financial flows, identifying challenges, and uncovering opportunities for accelerating circularity in the electronics value chain. Focusing on consumer electronics, it explores current financial products, services, and supply chain stages requiring financing to close market gaps. The initial phase produced the Financing Landscape for E-waste Report, highlighting benchmarks and solutions within a defined scope of products and geography, such as batteries in the Americas. Long-term goals include mobilizing capital and fostering global circularity in electronics. Through research, benchmarking and interviews, together with CEP and GeSI collaborators and stakeholders from the financial services industry, the report provides a deep understanding of how funding for electronics circularity could be incentivized and promoted through financial institution.

The initial report is just the beginning! CEP is continuing to seek collaborators to explore how the findings of the report can be implemented to convene the finance industry in support of the growing need for e-waste management.
