Accelerating the Transition to 100% Sustainable Technology

Join the Global Electronics Council (GEC) for an inspiring and interactive event, “Accelerating the Transition to 100% Sustainable Technology,” a gathering where the brightest minds in the field—leaders, innovators, and policymakers—converge to explore and shape the future of sustainable electronic technology. Through keynotes, in-depth discussions and case studies, we will explore how the transition to only sustainable technology can successfully unfold for electronic products, renewable energy infrastructure, data centers and the electronic components in the products with which we interact every day.
Daniel Reid, CEP’s Head of Secretariat, will join the diverse group of speakers part of this platform to exchange ideas, share success stories, and develop strategies to overcome the challenges of the transition to a green economy.

Decarbonizing products using alternative feedstocks

This roundtable will discuss fossil-based feedstocks’ effect on consumer product value chains and the challenge of reducing carbon in the post-use phase.
During this session, you will hear from thought leaders and representatives from organizations along the value chain who will offer their perspectives and insights on the topic. The session will raise awareness of the issue and identify challenges and potential solutions.

Shaping a Circular Critical Materials Accelerator Alliance
Host: World Business Council for Sustainable Development

This session will bring together key stakeholders to form a value chain alliance to enable circularity as part of the solution to meeting growing critical material demand. The platform will develop awareness and launch collective action projects to boost critical materials recovery and recycling rates by such as driving cross-sectoral and value chain public-private action on circularity, creating demand for circular solutions, pooling purchasing power, and developing scalable solutions to meet growing material demand-driven, in part, by the renewable energy transition. The alliance would focus initially on aluminium and copper, and then scale to other materials.
Presentations will cover the project overview, data on material opportunity, key topics for alignment, and open discussion to ensure a shared understanding and actionable next steps.

Circular Economy Futures 2050: Shaping the action agenda
Host: World Business Council for Sustainable Development

This event fosters dialogue and collaboration among leaders, policymakers, scientists and civil society to advance the circular economy globally. We will provide an analysis of global resource management and discuss the need for coordinated circular economy policies. The event will explore the “Circular Economy Futures 2050” policy paper for international cooperation in policy, trade and finance. A follow-up panel will discuss the roles of finance and trade in enabling circularity. The final plenary will present the results of the impact analysis of the Global Circularity Protocol’s transformative impact on climate, nature and social equity objectives.
